I don't know why I waited so long to read another Lexi C. Foss series. I mean...she got me HOOKED from page 1 when I read Andorra Sector, so why I waited to read this one...I can not tell you.

AGAIN she's done it to me. I was hooked on it from page 1 and I couldn't put this book down at all. One of her talents is her incredible world-building and her ability to make characters have that little something that keeps your interest.

The first time we meet Issac I just knew I was gonna like this book. And Astasiya is a strong heroine, I really liked her. They have chemistry delux, but like any other good story, it's a forbidden love story.

I love how the Author gives us a sneak peek on the next book in the Epilogue and I love how she also in her notes lets us know that Astasiya and Issac are one of the main focus couple throughout the series, and we will see them quite a lot. Some books more than others.

This book has fantastic world building and the paranormal aspect really intrigued me. There was something "new" here that I hadn't seen before, and even though some names and words are trope for Fantasy, there was still a vast amount of "new" here that I really am looking forward to explore!

Blood Laws is a wonderful UF/PNR by new to me author Lexi C. Foss. It has a terrific new take on vampires and introduces us to a convoluted world where you don’t know who the good guys are. This is a twisted tale of love and intrigue and it left me wanting more.
I received a copy of this book and chose to review it

Woah! This was even more awesome than what I expected!
Trust me, guys this is not your run of the mill UF or PNR book. And even though its the debut book of the author, it is fantastic beyond words.
The author has created an amazing, original setting with really good world building.
Both Stas and Isaac were well fleshed out and interesting main characters.
Stas can bend others to her will, a power that she has kept hidden till now.Its quite clear she may not be human, but she doesn't know what she is either. And here comes in Isaac am immortal with a hidden agenda. When he sees Stas he knows she is supposed to be his enemy, but he ropes her into his plan and decides to see out her usefulness. But the attraction between them is too hard to ignore. But will it all go up in flames?Read the book to find out!

The chemistry between Stas and Isaac was so good!I don't want to give anymore of the story away, since its best if you enjoy it to the fullest! But it was an amazing novel with the right mix of romance, suspense,a little action and fantasy.Cant wait to read more from this author!

This was brilliant. A very different dynamic than Lexi’s other series but really good nonetheless. This is a standalone(ish) but their story isn’t over, the series needs to be read in order and ends on cliffhangers for the overall storyline after each book. This book is free at the moment so I highly recommend it. It’s really interesting, I loved the cast of characters and especially the hero and heroine. It’s a very cool take on vampires, angels, and half-vampires. The romance was well paced and the build up was worth it. I know they get another book down the line so I’m excited for more of them!

Ohhh this book made me feel. So for that it gets 4.5 stars. But it’s an angsty mf. Stas’ emotions throughout this were so relatable. I would get so annoyed along side her and then when it was explained felt relieved right along with her. And for that I commend the author.

Issac was such a sweetheart but a “bad” boyfriend. B’s heart to heart with Stas about him nailed it. I loved that moment. (But I mean 400 years old and this is the only girl he’s slept with more than once… me: *turning a bling eye*) The only thing that really irked me was Clara rubbing all up on him and Issac not setting a boundary. I wish Stas would have addressed it deeper. Sure they’re just friends but respect for a relationship should be there. But I guess it’s a new concept for all of them. Okay I’m just rambling now.

I have so many unanswered questions. The biggest being, that memory of her mom she finally remembered. Why wasn’t that mentioned again???

I hope that and much more gets explained in the next books. I really can’t wait to see how Stas and Issac work passed the species differences and all.

Overall I love/hated this book. But the hate was because I hate hate hate angst angst angst… but the outcome is always such a sweet reward and this book delivered.

Lexi C. Foss is a new author to me, so I had no expectations going into this book. I knew it was a paranormal romance, and that was about it. Without giving it anymore thought, I decided to just dive in, and cross my fingers. I am happy to report that turned out to be a good decision.

Anastasiya ”Stas” Davenport has always known she wasn’t just an average girl. She has certain gifts that other human beings don’t that made that obvious to her from an early age. The problem is she has no idea why she has them, or what it all means.

On the day her best friend, Owen, is murdered, Stas runs into a handsome stranger named Issac that has the answers to all of her questions. He doesn’t just give them to her right away though. She has to agree to pretend to be his girlfriend first, and he will give her the information she seeks little by little. With no other options for getting what she wants, Stas agrees.

Issac Wakefield has supernatural abilities of his own, and the moment he meets Stas, he knows that she does, too. He is undeniably attracted to her, but that is not his only motive for wanting to keep her around. She might be the key to getting revenge on the man responsible for his sister’s death.

Blood Laws is a unique paranormal romance with a few twists and turns, some suspense, a complex world, likable characters, and plenty of steam. It wasn’t the fastest read for me, but that is because there is a fair amount of world building going on.

This is Lexi’s debut novel, and I think she did a great job of bringing something original to the table. She could have used well known mythological creatures with built-in lore, but instead she chose to create her own new and interesting world, and I applaud her for that. On top of that, she managed to get me invested in what happens to the main characters, so I will be reading the next installment very soon. If you are looking for something different in the paranormal romance or urban fantasy genre, I recommend this one to you!

This is the first of the series and it started in a great way, it was good pacing and the worldbuilding was pretty good. I enjoyed the characters, definitely liked the mystery behind the story and I would like to continue reading the rest of the series. I got the audiobook narrated by Kale Williams and Sarah Puckett, they do a brilliant job narrating it, I love Sarah Puckett from previous audiobooks and this one is no different. The editing was well done and I would recommend getting it.

Blood Laws by Lexi C. Foss is a paranormal romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Sarah Puckett and Joel Froomkin. This is book one in the Immortal Curse Series and per the author notes there will be overarching themes and question left unanswered that set up the next book. But each book the hero and heroine couple will always have a “happy for now” or a “happily ever after” ending.

This is the first book of Lexi’s that I have read/listened to and it definitely won’t be my last. Her writing style will pull you into the book. I just had to know what was going to happen next with Issac and Astasiya.  It does take a bit too fully get into the book and understand where each character lies in the storyline.

Sarah is an amazing narrator. I love the different voices she uses for each character. She does a great job bringing the storyline to life.  Joel is a new narrator for me and it did take me quite a while to get into his parts of the storyline. I did listen to the audiobook on 1.5 – 1.75 speed, otherwise it seemed way to slow in both narrators parts.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Paranormal Romance or Fantasy books.
