You know that feeling when you finish a long and deeply involved series. Where you don't know what you're going to do with your life now that is over... That. But like, more even.

This book was long. It could easily have been two books. Because it really is two stories. It dragged die the first 60% and many reviews I've read found this first half to boring. Personally I loved every minute of it. But I am a sucker for a long drawn or fantasy strory.

Most of the series, never mind the book is taken up with Fitz feeling very sorry for himself, I've got het over that it is very entertaining.

The ending is action packed, and all the plot lines that have been built up to over the long ball are addressed, most satisfactorily.

Robin Hobb will forever be a firm favourite of mine from now on.

An excellent end. The first half of the book felt completely different from the second and was a bit long.

Torn about how much I loved it.
I never connected with fitz, but I loved his friendship with the fool and nighteyes, that carried me through. Found it very frustrating that so much information about  the world was withheld… from fitz and from the reader.

Probably the best of the trilogy. Hobb is able to make me both hate and love Fitz at the same time. His story is both tragic and inspiring. And also
WHY CAN’T MY BOY JUST BE HAPPY WITH MOLLY. I GET BURRICH IS GOOD BUT I WANTED A REUNION.
