Liked this one a lot. I liked how the family element, the fantasy element, and how there were romances present, but they weren’t spoon fed to you.

I struggled a bit to get into the beginning of this book as it takes a while for the supernatural/ghostly elements to be explored. When the character of Faland is introduced is when the book really picks up! I personally love stories like this where the supernatural isn’t quite fully explained, but that is an fyi for anyone who needs a story to be wrapped up neatly with a bow on it. Also, this book deals heavily with war time conditions. The descriptions are not overly drawn out, but the author does not shy away for how gruesome active war zones and war hospitals are. I appreciated that, but again fyi for those who are squeamish.
