My journey with this series ends here.
I DEVOURED the first book... right up until that ending. Sort of turned into an x-men retelling? That's not my jam. I decided to give this one a go despite my reservations and I wasn't particularly impressed. This book has major middle book syndrome- most of the book is spent in mutant manor with nothing REALLY happening. It's slow and boring with things falling into place for the next book. While I really liked the character development for Juliette that's about all I liked. Adam is whiny, Warner is being set up to become the new love interest and you know, that just doesn't work for me. Trauma or no, he was extremely abusive and manipulative. Hard pass. I'm out.

☆☆☆ 5/5 ☆☆☆
When the people said you need to stick through the first book and that the other books are better, they really meant it!
Unravel Me was definitely worth the read and fixed so many issues i had with the first book. Julliete's writing style was definitely a big upside here as her raw emotion upped the scenes 2x.
The biggest gripe I have was the Adam's annoying ass and his relationships and acts towards Julliete. He pushes her to do things she doesn't want to, despite her being terrified to hurt him. He's annoying, he's selfish and he's genuinely my least favourite character in the series thus far.
