I loved this book. It was such a page turner for me. I really liked that it alternated between the two main characters. It added so much to the book. I also really liked watching the characters grow and I really cared about what happened to them. I will definitely read more by this author.

Not your average contemporary romance, and not sure it can even be categorized as one? A great mystery entwined with the enemies-to-lovers trope, though the romance was a little clunky and abrupt. I would have loved a little more length in the book to detail the romance as much as the mystery, but overall, still a story I enjoyed reading and would recommend to others. TW: childhood trauma, adoption, grief

i picked this book on a whim and i'm so glad i did
i don't even know what to say. this book was not at all what i was expecting but in the best possible way. it usually takes me 100 or so pages to really get into a story but this one hooked me immediately
i'm a hopeless romantic so if you tell me there's a love story/plot i'm going to read it.
this book was so much more than a love story and i'd say the love story wasn't even necessary for me to enjoy it
compelling story, amazing writing and writing style. i definitely need to read more from this author

Firstly, do not dive into this book thinking that it's a romance, it's not. Romantic mystery perhaps? It's honestly and unexpectedly (in a good way) a bit darker than what the cover offers. Utterly gripping (yeah, not a word I would use to describe a romance reiterating that this is not a pure romance) that I ingested this in two days.

Ultimately a story of self-discovery, acceptance, hope, overcoming guilt, and more. Loved how Nan Fischer wrote Sylvie and Thomas' character dynamics, from disbelieving to rooting for each other in the end.

There are some trigger/content warnings which I didn't include in this review so as to avoid any spoilers. Feel free to DM me if you're on the lookout for specific ones.
