This story was a rollercoaster of emotion from page one. Lilian Harris knows how to write an angsty romantic story and this mafia, best friends /enemy to lovers was the perfect example of how Lilian can pull you into this world leaving you always wanting more.
Dom and Chiara's story wasn't a simple one. Betrayal, lies and hate took too much of this couple's life.
Retribution and revenge consume Dom's heart making him incapable of seeing things in a different perspective. When he comes face to face with Chiara he wants to fight the feelings that are resurfacing.
Chiara was such a strong character. Her life was such a tragedy like Dom from a very young age. But she faced life the best way she could. When Dom enters her life things will take a drastic turn and she has to take some serious decisions regarding her future.
There are some very intense scenes, so be prepare. With that said I can't wait for the next book in this series.

I loved the first half of this book, and overall, it’s not bad. However, the longer Dom concealed his identity, the less I wanted to read it. I feel like we didn’t get enough time with them as themselves, and then, everything with her dad wrapped up so quickly. I just wish there had been more Dom and Chiara, instead of Chiara being in the dark for 95% of the book.

3.75/5 I feel like this story had a ton of potential. Dom and Chiara were best friends and so much happened when they turned 13. I just don't understand the whole she did not know who I was thing.. it was a good story and I am glad they got their HEA.
