Overall: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Writing: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Plot: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Characters: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice: 🌶️🌶️
Tropes, etc: Second Chance, Miscommunication, Fake Dating, Found Family, Dual Timeline
POV: Single, 1st Person
3rd Act Breakup?: Yes
Song Association: Sharpest Tool by Sabrina Carpenter
Notable Quote: “When we draw apart, he rests his brow against mine, breathing hard in the cold. “I think I love you, Harriet,” he says.
Love, I think. That’s new. And I’ll never be happy without it again.

Brief Summary: Harriet is shocked when she arrives at the cottage for her friend group’s annual vacation and is greeted by her long-distance fiancé…or rather, ex-fiancé, since Wyn broke her heart 6 months ago, and they haven’t broken the news to their friends yet.

The Praise: Emily continues to keep me hooked. The angst! I feel like I was in tears for a good 85% of this book. I love a good dual timeline and this one was so effective at making me love Wyn and Harriet together and mourn the end of their relationship.

The Critique: It’s rude to break my heart, Emily!

Final Thoughts: Funny and so, so angsty. A masterclass in using a dual timeline to wreck me. I loved it.

Cute book with beautiful imagery. It makes me want to go to Maine! Ending was cute, a little expected, but very enjoyable.

I'm not usually a romance book girlie but this felt so realistic and I was so invested in the characters and their lives

Just gorgeous. Emily Henry writes characters and dialogue in the most 3D way, the chemistry is always so tangible and I get invested in a way I genuinely find hard.

This book fell into the miscommunication trope at times, and it is truly my least favourite,  JUST TALK TO EACH OTHER. But, I do think that grief changes you, and makes sifting your thoughts hard so I think when you realise why their communication fails it is so forgiveable

I also think she could have rried being a GP. Like, I'm all for find peace and happiness, but giving up 10 years of med school without a pivot is jarring to read.

Overall though, I completely loved it!
