On that note, Sabrina is toxic and annoying. She does frustrating things or says mean/manipulative comments enough in the book that she actually didn't even seem like a good person to me.
Also, I was 70% in before I felt I wasn't confused anymore. I don't like the flipping back to the past thing, mostly because it makes it to where you don't understand the context of these 2 main characters' issues with one another and supposed reasons they can't be together. It did end up with a nice conclusion, but again, I'd rather have an enjoyable read for longer than have just an impactful ending.
I give Julia Whelan 5/5⭐️'s.

Wyn and Harriet absolutely stole my heart. I was hooked on their stories from the beginning.
I loved to see every part of their Story. Their love for each other was so deep, so genuine, so real. They way they care so deeply about each other.
I loved the structure of the book as well. How the Story unfolded over time of what led to the break up in the first place.
As will all of her other books Emily Henry is just a Master of writing such emotionally complex characters. Everything that happened between Harriet and Wyn was so realistic and understandable from their povs. There was no unnecessary drama, it completely made sense from both of their persoectives.
But the book was more than just a romance novel. It also focused on other kinds of love: Platonic and familial. And that's also what I love Emily Henry for. She always includes these kinds of love into her stories and gives them the importance they deserve.
It was an absolute pleasure to accompany Harriet and the others through the Story and seeing her grow.

I really high hopes to because it’s a second chance romance but I am disappointed.
The amount of people who gave this book positive reviews, saying that it felt like a retelling of their life, I can kind of see that because she does right realistic characters. But that doesn’t mean I want to read them and romance books, because realistic people in relationships are annoying and frustrating.

Now tell me why I literally bawled my eyes out at least 4-5 times? Then I finished the book and I felt alright, and then burst into tears again? And not just cried but literally sobbed?
This is more a contemporary than a romance. If you've ever had a group of really close friends, and start growing up together (or apart), this will hit so hard. It's the story of friendship that feels like family, and that cavity that never quite gets filled up when you feel like you've grown apart a bit. You never truly cope or heal from it.
I feel empty. I'm gonna go stare at a wall for a bit and then go for a drive with no aim. Good night <3.

Happy Place? More like Emotional Torture place. Do not be fooled by the title of the book. It is anything but happy. Kinda. OK fine, it does have happy elements but yk 75% of it is emotional roller-coaster that makes you wanna jump of a hill. 🤷🏽♀️
For those who don't know, second-chance romances are my jam. I love the trope so much and add in a bit of miscommunication? THAT'S A PERFECT COMBO RIGHT THERE.
I had been putting off reading this book for months and finally picked it up n I definitely don't regret it. It was really so beautiful. And had me swooning n ugly crying the whole time. Life had been so gloomy to me the past couple of days and this book kinda healed and made me feel a lot better.
Harriet and Wyn were such a breathe of fresh air. They have this special bond that didn't deter even when they weren't together. And probably that is what held them together. Even when it looked like they had given up, they actually hadn't.
One of the best thing I loved about this book is definitely the found family. That is one if my favourite things in book universes. And looking at their friend group was so amazing. And I could feel how deep they all had a bond from the start.
The ending was bit rushed. Like I would have seen a bit more growth. Other than that I loved it. Definitely one of the best read of the year for me.
