I think the pet name he chooses for her is too cutesy for his character, I also thought there were a few things that he and Carrigan said that made me cringe a little, but honestly just being a little nit picky there lol
This book had me laughing, crying and gnawing at the bars of my enclosure.
Check the TWs for this one though, some parts are pretty heavy!!

Overall, as with many mafia romances, this was a rollercoaster of emotions. James and Carrigan are not only head over heels for each other but outside of the intense attraction and desire they have, it's clear they both accept the other for the true person they are. I enjoyed reading how they both evolved a bit by being with one another and ultimately supporting one another.
The ending was rushed in my opinion and maybe because this is a series their story continues but there was a lot that happened there in the end that could certainly have been expanded on further.

Star-crossed lovers, hero who does bad things but he has Reasons, I hate you but I can't stop thinking about you...
I also loved the family dynamics and all the sequel bait.
Moderate: Trafficking, Torture, and Child abuse
