I was recommended this book and went in with very little knowledge and I'm glad for that!
I didn't give this book a super high rating because the begining is just . . .not great for me. I didn't like the style. But it did eventually grow on me and I'd say the last third of the book is a 4.5 for me.
Not having prior knowledge meant that the secretive background plot of this book really hit me and I loved it! I already love political thrillers and romance but the allusions pushed it over the top for me. I immediately gobbled up the next 2 books.
My only big criticism (and it's really of the whole series) is that the most present villain isn't just unbelievable, their motives feel super contrived.
This book is extra spicy so if you are sensitive beware! 😅
