DNF at 20% but I got the main point: we have destroyed our relationship with the earth and with our food that comes from it. We can vote with our dollars to do better. Although I don’t subscribe to Joel Salatin’s particular flavor of Christianity, I agreed with him on several points and I hope this can reach the hands of those Christians who need a jolt out of our hyper-consumeristic world.

Joel Salatin is an eloquent writer. He is passionate about humane animal husbandry and organic farming. He is inspiring, using Scripture to defend his belief that as Christians God demands us to be better stewards of the earth than we are. Mr. Salatin understands the inherit covenant of forgiveness in Christ's crucifixion and resurrection and how that should be our guiding principle when living our lives, not just in farming but in everything we do. It's as simple and complicated as that. If you are not already altering your food buying habits by shopping at local farmers' markets and being conscious of how your farmer raises animals, fruits and vegetables, you will be after you read this.
