This doctor has a way with words. He paints vivid images that put you right in his shoes in the ER. You feel his anguish as he tries his best to save a life. You feel his joy as he succeeds.

As an emergency medicine provider, this is the closest any media has gotten to describing what my job feels like. It may not have been an escape for me but a comfort to not feel so alone in my feelings. I feel as though this could be a very important read for the family and friends of those who work in emergency medicine.

Amazing read. Definitely worth the read.

I’m not sure where to begin. I stumbled upon this book by chance while skimming amazon and decided to give it a chance. I’ve spent the last two hours with my head buried in my phone just to finish it because I didn’t want to put it down. From a young age I have dealt with the ins and outs of trauma. I spent more time in hospitals with my terminally ill grandparents than we did at our home. This book gives a look from the other side. You get to see it through the eyes of a ER trauma doctor. While it does go into some cases this is more about the mindset of Dr. Green and it is truly fascinating. Being part of the medical field I have some experience but I never worked in trauma; I was long term care. This book is so well written and insightful that I can’t wait to go get the other book he had written.

I like the concept and I am a sucker for medical stuff. I liked a few of the stories a lot, though some of his commentary was cheesy and maybe under-edited.
