The ending picked up for me. It’s a treat to read Shakespeare before seeing it live. Cleopatra is definitely the best character as she deals with Shakespearean time fuckboy Antony!

could not deal with all the changes in scene, has to be my least favourite of Shakespeare's plays. Anthony just irks me. Cleopatra was sufficiently melodramatic.

I wasn't really expecting to like this play. But this "Romeo and Juliet for old(er) people," as my professor would say, was very good. There is much to mine here in homoerotic and incestuous allusions.

Though maybe I'm biased. Once again, these characters are special to me on a personal level.
