On point!

On the face of it, this series looks like a money-grab fueled by cosplay possibilities. I fully expected this to suck, but the story isn't stupid and the characters make sense. They actually make sense! When we meet the band of symbiote-bonded versions of characters, one of the first lines is "He's not my venom" which at once throw you off course, because look buddy, none of you are our venom.

But it works, ya'll, because the first reaction Eddie has is a deep cut to his personal identity, which is a continuous struggle for his character - what kind of man is he going to be; good, bad, or ugly. The only constant is that he is unique. Not this time. Reality is thrown off balance, we're in another multiverse story, and this might be the only character I've seen make that scenario feel believably unsettling. This presents such an interesting test for Venom, that I'm 100% digging it.

I have the highest hopes especially with the interactions between the Symbiote!Spider-man and Venom. Great job, Cullen Bunn!!
