So this is one of my Book of the Month Club books for July. I knew I wanted it as soon as I read the synopsis. I was so intrigued by the mystery, I also went to camp as a kid and it just really interested me. There were many things about this this story that I loved, however, I think the writer didn't execute it well in my opinion. Here's what I liked about it; the premise of the story, the characters(for the most part), the switch back and forth between the past and the present story-lines (this was very well done), the suspense that held you until literally the last chapter, the big reveal, and the ending. Here's where it didn't get four stars from me; I did not like how the present story-line dragged, there were times where I HAD to stop reading because I had completed zoned out due to being bored. I would then, on at least three occasions, have to go back and figure out where my mind stopped comprehending the story. I thought some of the decisions and actions of the story did not make sense from a story stand point, it made sense to the writer to do them to keep the reader on their toes but this is where its a lack of fusion in writing if that makes sense. Now I am not a writer and I mean no offense to Riley Sager but it seemed like it was a tactic to make the readers guessing which is great but not in a good way which is why I think I zoned out and why I haven't given this four stars.

The last time I read a book in two days I was 14 and devouring Twilight. Needless to say, this was much better. Beautiful and tragic, mysterious and sinister. Yes, yes, yes.
