This book is really sweet. Its close observation of humanity is both specific and universal, and I enjoyed the celebration of everyday pleasures alongside profound pain. The science fiction framing wasn’t particularly compelling to me, but it didn’t negatively impact my experience in a significant way.

I liked this book, however, I think not enough of the story, writing, and concept really stood out as exceptional. All in all it was a nice meditation on humanity, death, and belonging, but managed to be just average in a lane done better by many other authors.
