The first half of this is stronger than the second but its very funny to me that its basically just Conway writing his version of the events before his run and after his run (Ditko/Romita + MJ Marriage). Sadly this makes the comic feel kind of abrupt because he assumes you are familiar with his Spidey work and the relationship of Peter and MJ, skipping right from their introduction to their marriage essentially. He does do a great job at showing MJs internal life pre-Romita introduction and the parallels of her and Peter's lives intertwining until they actually come together as well as Doc Ock's contrast to Peter and how there interactions are less parallel and more direct intersection into each other. If you like any of those three characters, this is kind of a must read I think - especially for the internal characterizations of MJ and Octavius.

Saviuk, Mushynsky, and Sharen create a nice nostalgic stylistic feel that fits well with the tone throughout, even if its nothing outstanding artistically. It is often great imitation of the artists who came before them though.

I really like the focus on the difference between Peter and Mary-Jane and their lives however, as much I understand how MJ parties to get away from grief I didn’t like how mean she was to her family. She’s not the bitchy type.

Peter calling Otto a Fatso wasn’t expected either. He’s such a meanie!

It’s a great way to show how the relationship between Peter and MJ developed over time, from their first date, to their marriage. It really shows how much they love and care for one another even though they’re complete opposites!

I did enjoy it :)
