An enjoyable holiday happy ending story. The double booking / staying together was a bit unbelievable, but that’s what makes it fiction, lol.

This was a very cute rom-com. I enjoyed the premise of the two families stuck together over Christmas. I also enjoyed the chemistry between the main characters. When they got together, there wasn’t as much of them actually being together before splitting up, and I didn’t love the fade to black moments, but overall the book was fun. There were a couple small things that irritated me- the author/main character using the term “blusher” instead of “blush” (what young American women use this term?) Also, the author seemed to be using a thesaurus to find as many words for “hair” as possible (locks, tresses, etc). The use of those kind of slang d terms can just take me right out of a story.
I noticed this is supposed to be the third book in a series, but it didn’t seem like it at all. When I later went to read the descriptions for the other books in the series, I didn’t see any connection at all, other than the Christmas setting.
Thank you to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for providing me access to this eARC for my honest opinion!

Would you share a bed with your enemy to save Christmas? A double booking mishap forces two families to share the same four bedroom cabin over Christmas. As everyone gets their sleeping arrangements, Riven and Wendy are left with the dreaded bunk bed. These two opposites can’t help but to annoy each other and as their banter and pranks turn into sparks, there’s no point in admitting their attraction. Neither want a one night stand and they’ll be going their separate ways in just a few days…or will they?

I had the best time reading Home for Christmas. Enemies to lovers plus forced proximity? Check. Grumpy characters? Check. Witty banter and pranks? Double check. This reminded me of my favorite side couple from the Hallmark movie, Trading Christmas. I was grinning and laughing throughout the book and did not want to put it down. I absolutely loved Riven and Wendy – their banter and pranks from the get go was perfect and don’t get me started on Riven’s nicknames for Wendy.

This book is like reading a Hallmark movie. There is a lot of miscommunication and angst. Overall I liked it and read it very quickly.

(First of all, thank you so much NetGalley, publisher and author for providing me this ARC in exchange for an honest review)

Home for Christmas is the third book in the Christmas Romantic comedy saga by Camilla Isley and, as it's name suggests, is focused on Christmas romance. As all her books it's short, quick to read and I've enjoyed it very much.

Synopsis: Wendy is a play writer who finds herself in a situation with her family because her mother refuses to celebrate Christmas at her home because she remembers her deceased husband. This is how everyone ends up going to a cabin in the snow to spend Christmas. The problem is that this cabin is occupied by the famous writer Riven who has gone to write in his new novel after being cheated on by his soon to be ex-wife and while carrying out his divorce. At first and after long phone calls by her sister, Riven will go home for Christmas but a breakdown prevents the family from celebrating Christmas at home in L. A. and they set out to celebrate Christmas in Riven's cabin. So, 16 people, 1 cabin, a share bedroom, and a fatal first start. Could they go from enemies to lovers?

In my opinion, I saw a great change in the writing style and in the characters personalities (I read all the First Comes Love saga so I can tell) and I LOVE IT. I mean I think Camilla has develop her writing and characters and is growing as a writer every time a new book is out for us to read. So yeah this book is a 5 star from me to her.

*WARNING: SPOILERS BELOW*

I laugh so much, I love so much Wendy and Riven. I cried loud when she gets her pink hair. I love the tension of when they will get closer, when they will kiss, when they will accept what they feel. I love their friends Mindy and Danny so YES PLEASE WRITE THEIR STORY I'M BEGGING FOR IT BECAUSE I NEED IT. AND THE STORY OF RIVEN'S BOOK FANS CLARISSA AND AIDEN AS WELL. (sorry for the caps I got excited)

And of course I was dead when I read in the note from the author that Camilla is going to write now Sweet Love and Country Roads. The wait will have its reward.

Fun little Christmas romance story. This book kept my interest and I found it to be very fun. The book offers a simple style guy meets girl and girl and guy fall for one another, but not without complications. I enjoyed the story line and found it to be entertaining. I enjoyed the characters and found myself wishing for a great outcome.

Memorable Moments/Ideas:
✨ Pook
❄️ Pancakes
✨ Flannel Pajamas
❄️ Fireside
✨ Skiing

Characterization: I love the fact that the two main leads are both writers from different worlds. It’s fun to hear about their writing process and even witness their writing process happening in the book. Feels meta and I love that. I do think there may have been too many side characters for optimal development given the length of the book, but Riven and Wendy have some great moments throughout. The Home Alone-esque tribute of pranks? *Chef’s kiss*

Storyline: Full disclosure, I wasn’t expecting the timeline to be what it is in this book. I’m pleasantly surprised because I had many, many questions at the half way point and didn’t understand how résolution was going to be possible. It does feel a bit rushed at the end, and I just wish I had more to read about Riven and Wendy.

Writing Style: I love when we see text messages. I also love that we see the WIP writing of an author in a book. Again, meta, and I loved it. I find that when authors introduce dialogue or thought process a different way, the book is more engaging. The communication varied and I solidly enjoyed that.
