Only reason I am not giving this book 5 stars is a few errors in the book, one related to BAC, that just annoyed me. Otherwise a great book that I hope she does a sequel too that follows up on the FMC's brother.

Another disappointment! Gah I am not on a good reading streak.

I almost DNF'd this book. The first half is like reading an HGTV and a cooking show. It took over 50% to get to the suspense piece, and I knew who the killer was at the beginning. I was hoping there would be some sort of twist but nope.

I wanted to see her talk with her dad or at least see the brother's conversation with the dad. Or even get to read the letters between the dad and the new bad guy.

She's a talented writer but I was bored with this story.

The Obsession by Nora Roberts is a nice romantic suspense book .
Naomi Bowes rescued a woman who was raped and tortured from her father’s cellar when she was 11 years’ old. She lost all her innocence that night and she and her brother changed their last names and moved in with their uncle. Always fearing that her true identity would be discovered she never stayed in one place for a long time. When she arrives at Sunrise Cove she falls in love with that place and buys a home in need of tremendous repair. She becomes best friends with her contractor and his wife, adopts a stray dog and falls in love with a local mechanic, garage band lead singer and an avid book reader. When finally Naomi starts to believe that she may deserve friends and happiness there is a stalker watching her every move and is getting ready for the kill .
I loved the characters in the book . Naomi was a strong minded resourceful individual and you fall in love with the couple Naomi and Xander .The killer was easy to guess and the though the writing flowed beautifully there was too much details given in the house repairs and reconstruction of furniture. But overall a good enjoyable read in the romantic suspense genre.

I rated this book 3 stars but honestly it varied between a 2-4 stars depending on the chapter. Nora Robert’s is a great author but I feel in this one she didn’t know what she wanted to write. It’s like she wrote this book just to write a book. Her focus at times made no sense. She would narrow in at times on her subject with no purpose or relevance to her narrative and it became just words to fill space. I almost didn’t finish this book but trudged through it and was left feeling glad I did. But this definitely is not one of her better books.

Of course I enjoyed this. It’s my first book by Roberts but I enjoy it despite a low rating.

It was predictable but I liked the characters.
