I was a little disappointed with this one since I love all of Moriarty’s other books. Just needed to remember this was an early work.

This book told a good story, but the parts about post partum depression and allergies were just too challenging for me to read that it took away from the story for me as triggers.

I'm enjoying going through Liane Moriarty backlist audiobooks on the Libby app. Nine Perfect Strangers, Apples Never Fall, Truly Madly Guilty, and The Husband's Secret were all very good on audio. This one did not disappoint either!

The Last Anniversary is one of her older novels, almost 20 years ago now! It's about a small secluded island where generations of a family have lived, many secrets, postpartum depression, and a single woman who inherits a house on the island from her ex-boyfriends aunt. It's drama filled mystery fun! (Full summary on second image)

I really enjoyed it but I'll be honest I knocked off a point because i could not stand the very monotone narrator (but I really wanted to know what was happening so i could going with it). I don't think her other books had that narrator, they were good. She was... Well not so good imo.

An enjoyable book about family and the love they have for each other even in their differences and at times dysfunction.

This book was funny with loveable characters and a very unique setting. There were probably too many characters though, I didn’t know who was who until I was well into the book.

Because this story is third person but follows many different characters within a chapter it took me a while to get into the story. Every time we switched the character we were following it would take me a while to recall who the character was, how they were related, and what storyline they had. And quite often tge characters name wouldn't be mentioned until the next page or so.

I think this would of read better for me if it was first person and each chapter focused on each pov. I enjoyed the story but didn't feel that invested in what was happening. For me, the story felt clunky.

This is the first of Moriarty's books that I've read, though I've seen some of the shows based off of her work. I enjoyed it. It was cute and had some strong, independent women that were quite entertaining to read about, especially the older generation. There was a theme of women discovering themselves at a later stage in life once the family matriarch had passed away.
