I give it a solid 4 stars! This was my first ever Grisham novel and I found it to be very interesting and very real.
I liked the plot development towards the end of the book, I think it was done well. It did have a few slow parts, but as a survivor of 3 pretty big hurricanes, I can say that the beginning of the book was very real to form. It gave me flashbacks to being huddled with my mom and gma and our dogs in a small closet while a cat 3 hurricane roared by outside.
The book was fast-paced and gripping once the main plot got rolling and in a way, this book was written like how a hurricane rolls through a town. It destroys and rearranges everything and everyone, then there is a calm as the eyes roll through, before hitting again and finally leaving to let things rebuild and return to normalcy.
There was no particular character that was my favorite and I think Grisham wrote it that way intentionally. Each character is distinguished and solid on their own, but they play off each other well when they do interact and it makes the story more interesting.
Overall, I enjoyed the plot and it reminded me of watching a murder or mystery movie. I look forward to finding more Grisham books to read!

Entertaining! Though the details are pretty outrageous, this reads like some good old boys sharing their story. (And fiction can be strange because truth is often stranger, right?) Looking forward to book #3.

Loved the first this was a sub par follow up. A quick refreshing read between larger books or series. You should read the first before this one. It helped with certain plot points.
