There were highs, there were lows. I’m not a fan of a love triangle and the amplification of that storyline put a damper of my enjoyment. Since Elloren is our heroine it makes sense that most chapters are centered around her but the pacing between switching to other storylines felt a bit off occasionally. Things sure are ramping up, though.

01/21/2024: I feel like I liked this book more this time because I knew the gang was so separated. I do still think she's whiny-- like girl you are the most powerful weapon on the continent were they supposed to coddle you? Side characters slayed (im talking about you Lukas)

08/14/2024: I once again feel like the timing of this book was weird. It kind of erased all of the interesting things about Elloren and just made her really whiny Ln her weakling to warrior journey and it took wayyyy too long. I feel like the built up of these books are always so long and then the action is done in the blink of an eye. That being said I will be reading the next one
