the end is upon us. this book leads to the introduction of too many POVs. it should've been a tight trilogy (or even a quartet could have been fine!) and gone down as one of my favorite YA series, but unfortunately it just starts to get too bloated. elloren's parts were the best, obv, but even those started to feel a little bit repetitive with some of the conversations between her and lukas. alas, i'm gonna see this series through, only one more re-read before the new one

God, the chapters where Elloren was not the narrator were such a tease. I shall forge on because the mythology of this world has its hooks in me. But the main character is an idiot and a HALF.

I was a little worried about the prelude because it didn’t contain Elloren at all and was slow to start but once that was over woah was I in for a wild ride, I laughed, I sobbed, I blushed! When Ivan died after we waiting for this book for TWO years and he only got three pages I was crushed! Then I fell in love with her relationship with Lukas, I love them together, I’m so torn with the last chapter and Lukas being dead and Ivan actually being alive.....I’m spent and heartbroken right now.

This book had me STRESSED! Almost to the point I couldn't enjoy it because I was so worried about what was happening with the characters.
The only reason it got a 2 instead of a 1 was the last chapter
I’ve read the 1st two book in the hopes that it’s gets better. I DNF book 3. I really tried. I found it drug on a lot. The plot was somehow slower but more exciting than the first two. But I just couldn’t get into it. I do like how the MC character was developing. But there was no spice and I honestly found it pretty bland.
I really wanted more from this book. I still love the series, but instead of so much over-telling and somehow not enough telling at the same time, at least get to all the characters.... I dunno. I also thought it was a trilogy so I was looking forward to an epic finish. Instead I got an over romanticized stepping stone.
