Love's Refrain is book one in The Stardust Duet by K.G. Fletcher and is a time travel romance adventure story. Love’s Refrain is a beautiful heart-warming story told over the past and the present as our heroine travels in time. It is one of those stories that once read you have the desire to read all over again and not let go. These wonderful characters found their way into my heart. Once you start this book you will not be able to put it down. I enjoy KG’s easy flowing writing style.
It starts with a locket and a mysterious message and a portal that thrusts you back in time. It takes her on an unexpected journey where she finds a strange world where love, jealousy and war reside. One man but two different versions in two contrasting worlds.

First of all, the author immediate reels me in with the premise, recalling a beloved classic and its epic soundtrack “Somewhere in Time”. Sometimes you leave a book or movie that is based off something well known and cherished feeling a little let down. KG Fletcher DID NOT disappoint. Kat and Phillip - oh my word I love them. This book is haunting and beautiful and plays like a beautiful melody in my mind. I don’t know that my heart will survive the wait for the end of this duet. But all I know is that my heart is singing along with this beautiful tune. Give me more of that stardust melody while I go hum about the purple dusk of twilight time…
Love's Refrain was such a good read! I was blown away by the time I got to the end of this book! I will admit at the beginning, I was feeling very iffy with the storyline and it seemed very strange to me, but as I kept reading I was completely enraptured and entranced. This was such a beautiful story the author told. I know the author says it's based on around a movie or inspired by a movie, but I have never seen the movie so I was completely surprised at the storyline of this book. I cried while reading. It was so heartbreaking and so romantic it completely took me through the wringer of emotions. I'm so glad there's going to be a sequel featuring Kat and Phillip!
“No one could ever comprehend the love Kat and Phillip shared. Theirs was a love that crossed a chasm of time and space into the future. And it was in that future their song would never die.”
I think that quote sums up a lot about this book.
I had a hard time getting into Loves Refrain at first but I’m so glad I was able to persevere because after the first couple chapters I was hooked. Although I did find the “modern” storyline to be a bit off putting. I’m not sure if it was because of Kat and the older Phillip or the outrageous, jealous, mess that was Spencer. I really did love the story line of Kat and Phillip once she went back in time. Their love was so strong they were able to overcome the obstacles of time and find a way to be together. Overall this is a lovely, light, romantic read that I enjoyed. I will definitely be picking up book number two when it’s released to see where the author takes these two.

Love's Refrain is the first book I've read by K.G. Fletcher and it was just a decent read for me. The story was nice but I got a bit bored with the descriptions of everything. Just too long winded for what I typically enjoy reading so I felt it could have been a more concise story. I was hoping to get absorbed into the story based on all the positive reviews, but I personally struggled to continue reading but I persevered to finished it. I just did not get all the feelings the other reviewers alluded to. With this mentioned, the overall story line was good, with an unconventional love story that goes from past to present.
