A delightful read that dances on the page. The rebozo is almost a character by itself as it flows and wraps and twirls and covers. The story is in Spanish and English and can be used for many different purposes. It serves as a read-aloud on its own, but the creative element of the story, the rebozo being used in many different ways, opens up a discussion of how everyday objects can be transformed.

This children's book gives a peek into Mexican culture by describing the many ways in which a "rebozo" can be used. The illustrations add to the cultural exposure. I have to say, the book reminded me of what Douglas Adams says about towels.

What Can You Do With a Rebozo? Is a great teaching tool for one of the cultural aspects of the Mexican culture. This book goes through all the different uses of the rebozo and has stunning illustrations. It’s a Pura Belpré award winner. I think this book is good for teaching about different aspects of different cultures and what a rebozo is.
