It was really hard to believe the chemistry after so long and after only such a short time, the random third act at the end? The cheating trope AGAIN?! Meh. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Eh, this was just okay. I LOVED this authors first novel but this one fell flat for me. I did like the little flashbacks to June 14th (funny enough, that’s when I was reading this book). I loved the lake resort setting as I had spent many summers at a lakeside summer camp and truly cherish those days. But the story draggggeddd. I wasn’t invested in any of the characters. I’ve heard that the authors next book is better than this one and because I loved the first one so much I’m definitely going to be reading that one. Wish I liked this one more because the cover is so pretty!!

A little bit too heavy on the self discovery for my liking. I also think as a reader you have to suspend your belief that the 24 hours Fern & Will spend together 10 years ago was the basis of unrequited love. You’re still able to root for them though, even though Will makes everything 10x more complicated than it ever had to be.
The ending didn’t entirely sit right with me. To have Fern chase after Will after he ditched her TWICE? No thank you. He should’ve been grovelling from beginning to end for forgiveness

I really was enjoying this book up until the last 10% and then it lost me. Did not like the ending at all
