3.75. Some parts were a bit boring, but overall, it was good.

The problem is, it’s well written but the plot was super subpar.

This book was pretty hard to rate because the first half was kind of boring and didn’t seem to have a point to it quite yet, while the second half was an amazing story of Jess’s piecing together all of the clues that she had found and searching out the answer. Often times books like this have endings that seem to drop off the story rather quickly, but this book settled everything very nicely. I would recommend this book, but you definitely have to stick it out through the first 150-200 ish pages to get to the true plot and action.

The story starts off with Jessa in Caleb's room. At first, I wasn't hooked with the events of the story. Then, as I continued, I suddenly get excited about what would happen next. It's a great mystery read. The way Megan Miranda wrote it was amazing. The events were played very well. Another great thing about this book is that it isn't hard to connect with the characters. I love how headstrong Jessa is, how loyal and caring Max is, how mysterious, but somehow hot, Caleb is. The thing about the story is that it doesn't go in order, with the flashbacks and all, but it doesn't make your mind go haywire. Like, some way, somehow, everything is still in order, the puzzle being solved slowly, step by step. I love how subtle but sweet the romance is here in this book. I love it so much.

I was reading this for the Literally Dead Book Club pick. I think I stopped at page 74. This just doesn't feel like a thriller. Not interested in continuing at this point. At this point it just feels like a girl reminiscing about her dead boyfriend. At some point there may be some mystery elements, but I don't want to read another 100 pages to get there.
