THIS BOOK. This is my absolute favorite so far. I just adore Jennie, I loved her bits in Consider Me so I was so excited to get to know her more. On top of that Garrett.. such a sweetie. I love their dynamic and everything they worked through. These books are cheeesy cheesy cheesy but boy do they shine!

Oh my gosh what magic have I read? I absolutely, absolutely adored Garrett and Jennie! Garrett is such a cinnamon roll hero. He was so sweet, so in touch with his feelings, and so in love with Jennie that he'd do anything for her. Heart is melting. Sappy puddle, me. And also I just loved watching how much growth Jennie goes through in this book. She's such an earnest character, and you just find yourself wanting to reassure her that she's absolutely enough on her own. If I could give her character the biggest hug I would. This was a character driven book which is exactly my jam and I loved seeing how the relationship grew and evolved, how they did have some communication issues, but it wasn't dragged out, just enough to help them learn and grow and get back to loving up on each other.
I'm absolutely obsessed with this series and I can't wait to read more.

I really enjoyed this book but the FMC was borderline too harsh and snide at times. I like strong FMCs, but women can be strong without being unkind. The FMC wasn't unkind, but she was flirting with the line at times.

The MMC was adorable with all his stammering and unsure awkwardness, especially when it contrasted with the moments he took charge and was assured. The dynamic between the FMC and MMC was interesting and kept me entertained throughout the story.

I didn't like how the whole situation with Carter finding out was handled but not for the same reason as most reviewers who hated it. While the relationship between the FMC and MMC is none of Carter's business, Carter had every right to be mad at the deception that went on WAY too long. This was never addressed. Does he have a right to know the nature of their relationship or have a say? No. Should he be allowed to be hurt that his beat friend and his sister have lied to him for months about being involved in some way? Yes. He isn't wrong for that. They aren't just co-workers or acquaintances to him.

Overall, this is a solid four star read and I'm looking forward to Adam's book.

Ugh I loved this one more than the first one. I totally didn’t think I would because it took me like two weeks to get past the first chapter but once I got started it was so freaking good. Jennie and Garrett’s slowburn friends to lovers arc was breathtaking and I enjoyed every freaking minute of it. Plus as always Becka Mack made me laugh so freaking hard. Another great read!

Fun, fear, fractured but fabulous family members

Really enjoyed this book, loved Garrett and Jeanie even more so than Ollie and Carter in the first book. Looking forward to Adam’s story next.
Love, family locality, trauma and compassion. I laughed and cried with this one.
