Thanks to NetGalley and William Morrow for the ARC of this title.
Devoured this in one sitting on a flight - it does a great job of showing how HBO and streaming changed the TV landscape over the last two decades, and where we go from here. Timelines are occasionally a little wibbly-wobbly as it jumps between services, and it's occasionally a little repetitive, but I liked this a lot.

This book felt like a series of those "for you" articles that hold your attention for only half the story.
Part 3 was the most interesting.

На самом деле, реально офигенная журналистская работа, проделанная по горячим следам, но с удивительной цепкостью взгляда, выхватывающего in the eye of the storm главное.

Anyone down on the industry coming out of the WGA/SAG strikes, maybe avoid this book. It won't cheer your mood. Nobody really comes off great in this book -- not the execs chasing profits over artistic success... or the monster egos of the showrunners they regularly clash with.
Could've done without some of the snark around series that failed. Plus the writer leaves out some details in order to bolster his thesis (yeah, HBO took a risk on Benioff & Weiss -- but they fail to mention that Benioff's daddy used to run Goldman Sachs).
