Things started off a bit slow with this book but the story was great!! I was often hooked and unable to put it down. I LOVE the characters, especially the dragons. Although, Violet and Xaden did stress me out a lot in this book. I also wish I could have seen more of the side characters. I feel as if the side characters didn't get as much time to shine as they did in the previous book.

I'm looking forward to the next book in the series! Although I don't know how I'm going to survive the wait, it's so far away...

I much preferred Fourth Wing, even if the volume is good too! The main storyline is a little slow (in my opinion) and some editing errors really put me out of my reading, unfortunately.

An excellent sequel to Fourth Wing. It’s nice to see the world-building and plot twists continue (Rebecca Yarros is a master of cliffhangers I didn’t see coming). I enjoyed watching Violet, her friends, and Xaden continue to live their lives together. I don’t see how Yarros can keep this up for three more books, but I’m very much looking forward to the next one!
