So obviously a Reylo fanfic and it made me giggle and kick my feet because of it. I missed reading stuff like this. It just warms my heart. Hate the third act breakup, but otherwise perfection!

This was very cute, the way they showed love through music was so sweet. But it started slow and the way she kept calling him by a name he asked her not to pissed me off so bad. That cello scene though 👀
emotional medium-paced

I feel like you only get such a small part of her main characters, but somehow it still hits hard and is so satisfying

I did not expect to love this as much as I did. This is the first Julie Soto book I've read. In this enemies-to-lovers, two musicians start as rivals and end up as lovers (is there any other ending in a romance?).  Gwen and Alex are both intense, dedicated people, and that causes them to butt heads throughout the book. They are dealing with professional dynamics I know nothing about, but they seemed complicated. The intensity between the two is easy to get sucked into. I was rooting for them as individuals and as a couple from the beginning.
There was conflict within found family that had to be overcome, and redemption for characters who had made bad decisions.
And Nathan & Lorenz can f off.

I really liked this story. It hooked me and I breezed through most of it. It was a good enemies to lovers that transitioned into a bit of a man obsessed. I like how fully he committed to getting close to her. I really liked Gwen’s relationships with her best friends and Mabel is a great character. I can’t say why I docked the rating .25 stars, I guess it just came short of that 5 star feeling.

After sitting on it for a bit I’m bumping this up to a 5.
