One of my favourite fiction magazines of the moment, Unnerving continues to impress me. This issue includes excerpts from books by James Newman & Mark Steensland, and Christopher Sorensen, both books I need to go buy now! Also, stand-out short fiction, especially "The Body" by Philip Fracassi and "Envy" by Kate Jonez. The very brief comments from horror authors including Rio Youers, Andy Davidson, Jennifer McMahon and Ray Cluley about memorable moments with horror stories from their childhood were also very entertaining. But, possibly my favourite part of this latest issue was the non-fiction article on Folk Horror from author Gwendolyn Kiste. She has done a few such articles for Unnerving now and I always find them insightful and educational, as well as entertaining, delivered as they are by Kiste.
