“If they’re not having a positive influence on your life, they don’t belong in it. Find a new sister, a new brother. Blood is not destiny. True connection arises out of mutual respect and benefit. Take a good look around you, identify them, and eliminate these blood-sucking parasites now. Before they ruin your life.”
This was a semi-solid, nicely paced thriller from Liv Constantine. The book is set in Connecticut near a wealthy coastal town which earns points in my book (there’s ALWAYS drama). There’s a dual POV in this one flipping between Piper the hot, young newcomer in town and Joanna who has stayed by Leo’s side waiting patiently for him to get back to his normal self post-depression. The two women have one thing in common-they’re after the same man and will do whatever it takes to get their happy ending. There’s plenty of interesting dynamics in this one between Leo’s children and family, Piper’s mysterious past and Joanna’s desperation. With the exception of one overarching detail that never made sense to me I did really enjoy the book, especially the major twist at the end.

Misleading in the best way and a quick read. The ending had a fantastic twist I had to re-read because I thought I had missed something.
