Listened to on audio and found it really easy to get through. I initially thought it was very similar to other wronged wife related books I’ve previously read but this did end up being a little different and I was happy (and a little surprised) with the outcome of the book, which is always a good thing in my opinion.
This was a very good book. I have enjoyed every book by the author that I have read, and the twists always leave you guessing.
Married man meets woman, woman lures married man away from family, scorned wife digs into woman's past and finds unsavory elements. That about sums up this book. It jumped right into the plot and went straight from zero to sixty- but not in a good way. This book is not Constantine's best work in my opinion.
I received an advance copy from Edelweiss and the publisher. This is my honest review.

I still actually don't have thoughts fully formed about this one.
Oh also revealed is that the therapist our second POV (the employee, who remember, we think is the mother of the children and scorned ex-wife throughout the story) has been seeing was a secondary plot, because this therapist was the family that her own father left her to be with. She fucks her over in some way as a nice parting gift.
It's a good beach/pool/summertime read and goes fast!
Spoiler
On one hand, as you're reading this story it's like holy shit, how can this guy be such an asshole to just shove his ex aside for this new woman, and all of that is very uncool. Then we're hearing all these things about Piper and her two former spouses being deceased under shady circumstances so you're like ah yes, she must be preparing to kill him and his kid as well. But then, in LITERALLY the last ten percent, it's revealed that the woman we've been assuming is the mother to the children is actually a former employee of the husbands who had helped out a bit after his actual wife died. So then we're thinking like oh wow, you're crazy and no wonder they got a restraining order and so on. But then also, they leave it open that maybe Piper did murder those two guys so... who fucking knows. The whole twist was WILD.Oh also revealed is that the therapist our second POV (the employee, who remember, we think is the mother of the children and scorned ex-wife throughout the story) has been seeing was a secondary plot, because this therapist was the family that her own father left her to be with. DNF- made it about halfway through and had to give up. This was so boring and all of the characters were so damn annoying
Didn't like any of the adult characters but really enjoy the storyline and loved the plot twist at the end.
What a JAW DROPPING ending!! I would have never seen it coming. Such a well written story.
I definitely did not see either of the twists coming, but many of the red herrings didn’t make sense once you learn what the twists are; and, it took way too long to get there.
