Slow paced, domestic psychological thriller with a twist ending

Rating: 3 stars
My feelings about this book are two-fold.

On one hand, the chapters are short and precise, hitting on the important points like a sledge hammer. The characters are well-developed, though not remotely likable which is good in my case-I love a unlikeable character. For 75% of the book, I was less than impressed by their life choices.
On the other hand, all I could think to myself through the bulk of the story was, "There is no freaking way that would happen," which I eventually realized was likely a clue unto itself (and essentially helped me figure out the main twist).

The problem is, it was all just kind of "meh" for me. Nothing really new here, and when the ending was ultimately revealed, I realized there were also a couple plot holes that were never resolved. The middle of the book is a little dull and repetitive. I certainly didn't hate it but I did think several times lets speed this along.

I'll end this review by saying this, The Wife Stalker is fair but I have enjoyed her other books more especially The Last Mrs. Parrish.

Okay so. I read this book in one sitting a couple days ago, then when I got to the end I was so disgusted I was like "well I hate that book". But I couldn't stop thinking about it. It made me think about how those who are in the wrong often try to portray their own actions in the best light possible, but those who are innocent don't care about what they tell themselves, necessarily. At first I thought the author took advantage of the reader to sucker punch them with the twist, but then I realized there were a lot of hints--even some that I had picked up on! That all was not right. Props to this author for making me change my mind two days after I read her book!
