The second book in the Saga of the Unfated was much slower and more reflective than the first one. I enjoyed the stylized language and Norse mythology references (Huldra! Nidhogg! Rune magic!), but had to skip the spicy bits. The romance felt shallow and theatrical, but I was happy to see that FMC gained some agency by the end of the story. Oh, the plot twist at 2/3 mark was delicious!

Not sure what the point was as Freya confronts and then backs off her own character development by the epilogue.

Widening the world was cool, but why was this not a trilogy?!
