This is a lovely looking book. The translations of the stories are not great.

3 stars. Meh. The only stories that I enjoyed were The Little Mermaid, The Ugly Duckling, The Red Shoes and The Little Match Girl. Everything else did nothing for me except bore me. The illustrations are beautiful though.

Ariel was and still is one of my favourite Disney princesses. This story remains one of my favourites. I do wish now that she didn't have to trade her tail for legs. Mermaids are incredibly wonderful creatures.

The non-fiction parts were eye-opening and the choices Lacombe made when it comes to the depiction of the Little Mermaid alone made me look at the illustrations in a completely different light! 🏳️‍🌈

This book is so adorable. The illustrations in watercolour are beautiful.
The story is close to Disney's Little Mermaid story, with little modifications. Her sisters are sweeter, she has a grandma and the witch's spell is different, but it's still amazing. It's not the real story; but it's ok. I'm fine with not reading Eric as a arsehole or she having her tongue cut, so I'll keep the kids' version of it in my mind.
If you are not completely fluent in Spanish, that's a great start, since it's a kids book.
My mom brought me from her trip to Peru, because I fell in love with the cover. I'm a judger, sorry.
Anyway, five stars because I've always loved The Little Mermaid (I still believe I'll turn into one), and five stars to the illustrator: Francesca Rossi! Lovely work!
