Oh, the Lancre Witches <3
I want to be Nanny Ogg when I grow old XD
Wyrd Sisters was really good, it was the first book in the big-chronological-re-read that actually felt like a proper Discworld book. The references were still pretty heavy (Shakespear, this time) but all the part about the guild of Fools, and the Realm being unsatisfied, and the Duchess of course, was pure Pratchett and I loved it!

what can be said about Terry Pratchett, other than my daughter is miffed that he is my favorite person in the world. I mean, I love the kid, but come on . . .
I can't believe I ever gave this left than five stars.
The first of the Witches of Discworld, wonderful and funny and Shakespearian.
If you have any whimsy in your heart, this is a book that must be read. Witty, sarcastic, brilliant.
Love it.

I haven’t found a Pratchett book yet I didn’t like. This book was smart and funny. I’m happy.

On nights such as this, witches are abroad. Well, not actually abroad – they don’t like the food and you can’t trust the water and the shamans always hog the deckchairs – but there was a full moon resting the ragged clouds, and the rushing air was full of whispers, and the very broad hint of magic.
One of my favourite Discworld stories, and just as good the second time round. I loved the Shakespeare references ("Can I compare you to a summer's day? The 12th July was quite nice"), and Granny Weatherwax is always a good laugh.

2023 review:
"Granny had never had much time for words. They were so insubstantial. Now she wished that she had found the time. Words were indeed insubstantial. They were as soft as water, but they were also as powerful as water and now they were rushing over the audience, eroding the levees of veracity, and carrying away the past."
This is the first great Discworld novel, the one where Pratchett finally nailed the plot. My theory is that he immersed himself in Shakespeare as research and that's when it clicked.
Running Series Ranking:
1. Wyrd Sisters
2. Mort
3. Equal Rites
4. The Light Fantastic
5. The Colour of Magic
6. Sourcery

2016 review:
Other than maybe Mort, the first great Discworld novel. Pratchett does Shakespeare with all the sly nods, quirky characters, puns, and social satire that he is loved for.
