Leuk boek, echt iets voor mij: even heerlijk ontspannen met fantasy en romantiek. Eergisteravond aan begonnen en gisteren de rest in één ruk uitgelezen. 3½ ster.

Such a captivating read! Jordan did a splendid job of creating the world of Draki! Loved the chemistry between Jacinda and Will throughout the novel! Excited to read the rest of the series! :)

Good stuff! Read it in a day and immediately requested the next two in the series from my library.

I realized that a lot books that I have read and LOVED had the name Will in it. I think I am completely in love with the name Will now... ;)

Okay so I thought this book was amazing, with the whole draki, descendants from dragons, thing which is something very different, and AWESOME!!! :D But I hate Jacinda's mom and sister, they are trying to kill her draki self by running away from the other drakis and living among regular humans. Her sister doesn't have a draki form because she and jacinda are twins, only one can get it and it was jacinda. Draki have powers: strength, water, speed, etc.
But Jacinda is rare among her draki, she has the gift of breathing fire.
Draki have enemys too. They are called hunters, they hunt draki for their beautiful skin and other things. A hunter boy, shockingly, saved her life during a hunt.

Jacinda escapes her draki home called the pride, with her mother and sister who think they are in danger with them. At a human school Jacinda recognizes the hunter boy that saved her life. His name was Will, a total hottie from the start! ;p

As she gets to know Will more, her emotions grow also, ignoring the voice that said he was a hunter, that his family where hunters too, determined to kill every draki for their skin. She falls in love with him, and gets more in danger.

This book was amazing and I really loved it, recommend it to anybody into fantasy!!!

LONG LIVE THE NAME WILL!!!!! <3
:D

5 stars all the way!!! Amazing! What is going to happen? Such and intense ending. I can't wait to find out what happens. I want the next book now. :) The whole dragon thing is something new and different to me. I think it could have been explored more in the book. Like what are the enkros. I thought that when Will found out about Jacinda that we would find out about his side of things but no. It was a fun quick read. I could pick on it a bit. But they are just little things over all it was really good.

One thing though and like I said I don't wanna pick on the book but when I started reading this book it got me thinking that it is starting to get a bit annoying in young adult books how it is always the same formula for the romance to begin. New girl at the school gets the hot guys attention who is never interested in any other girl until they came along. or the hot new mystery guy likes the not so popular girl and this makes the popular girls mad. I want the authors out there to get creative and think of something new. It always reminds me that I should stay away from young adult books but something always pulls me back in. hehe

Picture yourself as a teenage girl draki who loves to fly and loves being a draki. Now picture having to hide who and what you are. Now you have Jacinda in your mind. She is a descendant of the dragons of old, with one tiny difference she also has human form. Her and her best friend sneak away from the pride so that they can fly in freedom. Apparently there are different draki, there are fire breathers like Jace, and there are swimmers like her best friend Az. I am sure there are other kinds.

While they are out they are spotted by hunters, and the chase is on. My adrenaline rushed through my veins as I read this. I could feel my heart beating rapidly. I was so immersed in it. I don’t want to spoil it, I don’t tend to do spoilers. But, spoiler alert…..when Jacinda is fleeing the hunters and goes into the cave, her feelings are so real to me.

Spoiler over…..

Fast forward….I finished this book last night. I think the end sucked. I know that the hope was to leave it open for sequels but it left me feeling cheated and there were things that should have been resolved. I am not sure that I will take the time to read the sequel.

There were all the things needed to make this the perfect teenage novel, I usually enjoy YA novels. This was too much like something my daughters would enjoy much more than I did. The beginning was so good for me and I am sorry that it didn’t stay that way for me.

I will say that there was some real excitement near the end but I needed more. There are all of the elements of a good sequel but please follow through with the level that you started and ended this book, don’t let the middle go again please.

I dug this from the recesses of my memory. I read it in middle/high school and loved it. I was in a reading slump and a reread was the only thing that sparked my interest and I’m saving Red, White, & Royal Blue for election season. This was everything i remembered fun, compelling, and so so sweet. The writing is a little simple but it holds a special place In my heart. I recommend to any fans looking to scratch the Fourth Wing itch. However it is YA so no spice just sweet first love.
