Not my greatest read, but enjoyable nonetheless.

I rather enjoyed this book! It was something new and it stayed pretty exciting the entire way through! Little confused about what's going on though.

I have just finished Frostfire and all I can say is that Amanda Hocking has hit another homerun with this book. Bryn is an interesting main character who is determined and brave. Her heritage making it more difficult for her to succeed makes her work doubly hard as a tracker. I won't say anything about what happens to stop from spoiling the story. This book keeps you guessing to the last page of what is going to happen next. I now can't wait for the sequel. Really lovely to see old characters from the Trylle series again too.

The first thing I have to say is... I absolutely love this world. I think it's interesting to find out these people are trolls. TROLLS. But they are "human-like." (I don't know another way to explain it)

I read the Trylle trilogy sometime early last year and I just wanted more from it! I was so happy to out about this series which was set in the same type of world, but in a different village, with different characters and a different time.

I like the characters in this series so far, but I don't love or connect with them as much as I had with the Trylle characters. But I was SUPER HAPPY when characters from Trylle came into this story. (FINN & TOVE) I was very excited when the entered the story!

One thing that bothered me though was the romance. Don't get me wrong I liked it, but Bryn and Ridley's relationship took over the majority of the story, when there could've been more action and scenes with Konstantin. RIDLEY STILL HAS A GIRLFRIEND. Break up with her and move on to Bryn, we all know you will so why not save the trouble and do it now.

Other than that, I really enjoyed it and with be continuing on with this trilogy whenever I can!

Cannot wait to read the rest of the books in this series. I love that the author chose a "species" not normally seen in fantasy writing. It makes the books unique and refreshing.

I really liked this book. Bryn is an amazing character and I loved the chemistry between her and Ridley. I was a bit disappointed about the ending though, I had hoped for an epilogue of sorts, but still it was a great book, can't wait to read the next one in the series :)

I was so unbelievably excited to take a step back into our beloved Trylle world and I can’t understand why I waited so long to! I think I love these characters even more than the original, but unfortunately I was just left really unsatisfied by the ending. Hopefully things will turn around in the second installment!

Why have I not heard about this book before??? It was AMAZING, and I literally didn't want to put it down. The world-building was phenomenal, with intricate histories of the civilizations and backstories for the characters. The characters were all enjoyable and complex, and I loved that Bryn was totally dedicated to her work and was adamant that nothing would get in the way of her career success. I really admire the exploration of a woman who is very career-minded and who doesn't want a family or spouse, especially in a fantasy. I think this exploration is very well-rounded with Bryn's friends diverting from the path that she wants for herself or even just not being as strict with their personal lives as Bryn is with hers. I love the different perspectives this brings into the discussion about working women, and this is especially difficult for a fantasy book. I have read a lot of fantasy books where the girl has to choose between the two hot guys (because, let's face it, that's a lot of what's out there), but even though there is an element of romance in Bryn's story, she fights it and is always thinking about the impact on her career. I can't wait to see how the series continues - I hope this isn't a story of a woman caving for a man and learning that she can "have it all". I'm not saying that women can't "have it all" - I'm merely interested in a story where a woman chooses her career over a family or even over a spouse.
