Pretty much a what-not-to-do if you were an American girl in the 1950's, living in Paris for a year on your uncle's dime. A terribly fun and entertaining story, though. I will admit that I related to the protagonist in perhaps too many ways... Which might explain why I found so many moments of enlightenment while reading. Here's another book with abundant choice quotes!

Finally read after years of curiosity, and I have no idea how all of the descriptions that sounded so appealing became a dreary, muddled, and relate-less mess of a read. Gore Vidal must’ve been pressured at gun point for his pull quote.
