Never a Star Wars fan and this book didn’t help to convince me towards the force. If anything, I feel bad for Carrie. She doesn’t even sound real (but that actually does make sense after knowing a bit about her life). This book desperately grabs for something in the direction of trying to seem relevant, and even worse, funny. I listened to the audio book and hearing her voice was… painful and cringe. Just because you’re a product of Hollywood incest, it’s not a golden ticket to inherent story-telling skill or comedy. Interesting insight into the fucked up life of the those that grew up in Hollywood… aka those that don’t know the difference between stardust and reality.

I related to Carrie's stories in a very personal way. I also had the pleasure of listening to the audiobook and highly recommend listening to Carrie tell her own stories. There is something so relatable about Carrie's ups and downs even without the same extreme. If you are a fan of Carrie Fisher this book is a must-read.

I struggled so hard to follow her train of thought. Giving credit to her mental health disorders and years of drug and alcohol abuse, but my goodness, this was like listening to an hours long run-on sentence by someone's cooky aunt. Like being cornered by an old bitty at a wedding who sees the young folks having fun and wants to tell you how they used to rage in their youth. You want so badly for the conversation to end, but you don't want to seem rude.

I love her. I love her film work. But this book should have stopped at her editor's desk.
