Another winning book by Dr. Locke. The story was well crafted and entertaining. The book lost a star for two reasons. First, there are a lot of characters and keeping all of them straight was sometimes difficult. Second, I did not feel Anne was involved in this story as she has been in the past.

Around the Year (ATY) Prompt #27: History or historical fiction

Loved this latest book by M. Louisa Locke - the return of many familiar faces, including Caro, now a medical student, and Mitchell, who dates back to the first book in the series. A fascinating setting in a women and children's medical center staffed by women doctors and nurses in 1882, based on a real place from that time. Great mysteries in the story - Is someone trying to ruin the center? Is someone poisoning the young, pretty, wealthy, wife? Who killed a respected doctor?

Highly recommend this book and the rest of the series.
