This book thoroughly wrecked me in the best way. It has so much heart and depth. I cried multiple times. I love these character and this world so much. I cannot wait for the next one! This is an absolute must read.

Every single relationship built within this novel is a masterpiece. I found myself aching within each portion of uncovering more of each character’s history. I lived for the wit, spiciness, thoroughness in tying together pieces of this puzzle, deep love in various forms, the imagery of their magic, their world, their intimacies… all of it.
I didn’t want it to end because I knew I’d have to wait for the next book. I have thoroughly fucked myself.
P.S. I have realized, since this novel, that I have consistently had a *thing* for the Reaper (e.g., Thanasim + my first noted favorite book being The Book Thief when I was young).

I felt like this book never moved. We sat there FOREVER talking about doing the thing (not trying to spoil), but at 33% in, they still didn’t do the thing!!

I loved the first book, and I loved this one just as much. I can’t wait for the next book in the series!! I really enjoy the authors writing style, she’s created a great story and I can’t wait to continue reading her work!
