DID NOT FINISH: 36%

Repetitive, boring, uninspiring. directionless, misleading title. And did I mention, repetitive? Just a few interesting stories or points here and there. Not worth, in my opinion, reading the whole book.

Sweet nostalgia and heart warming stories for any bibliophile.

Maybe James Patterson doesn't immediately come to mind as an author of a non-fiction book brimming with vignettes of fascinating personal stories librarians and booksellers. Perhaps you remember reading about his large donations in support of indie bookstores. Or if you ponder it for awhile, you imagine an author just appreciates the people who facilitate access to books and the way books open our hearts and minds. And that these special people might have interesting stores about it. But they do, and they are worth reading.
