I'm so ready for Book 3.

The Fires of Vengeance is the exhilirating sequel to Rage of Dragons, and boy, what a follow-up it is. This one continues the journey of Tau Solarin as he continues his quest for vegeance, but now as the Champion of the Queen. He and his sword brothers having matured, they're now faced with all out war.

The Fires of Vengeance does a great job of showing Tau's obsession with vegeance, and how much it impacts his relationships and choices. He's become revenge incarnate, and he has to make some crucial choices in this book. The consequences for decisions made are also so much greater than the first book. There's so much death and loss and blood, all for the sake of revenge, and it's so fitting to how all-consuming his need for vengeance is. It's still mostly in his POV, but much like the last book, every now and again, it will switch to someone else's perspective. And they see him in such a different way from how he sees himself. You also get to learn even more of the world and the main threats these characters face, including the dragons themselves. They don't appear very often, much like Rage of Dragons, but in this book especially, they get a moment to shine.

And the ENDING. I'm so mad (not really) at the cliffhanger it ended on. It just makes me more hyped for when the third book comes. I look forward to seeing how this story ends, and I hope my boy Tau can finally get some peace.

A fast-paced, gripping revenge-story with a beautifully flawed protagonist!

I enjoyed this book as much as I did book 1 of the series, and will eagerly await book 3 whenever it publishes! I enjoy the battle scenes and brutality of the world. The author doesn’t shy away from killing prominent characters and creating a cycle of revenge amongst the warring parties at play. It didn’t have as much romance as I had hoped for, but I enjoyed that subplot nonetheless. Very much looking forward to Book 3!

A strong start for my reading year! The book is as fast paced as the first one, but I have to say that in the beginning I was tired of so many things happening and at one point I felt overwhelmed, but after the initial problem was solved by the characters, I got much more hooked and it was delightful to learn more about the secrets of the Omehis! Most of the time we follow Tau’s POV, but we have some POV changes that I thought super refreshing and smart. The second half was so good that I cancelled all my plans to finish the book 😂
I’m very curious for book 3!

This was so good! Winter did it again. The second book curse did not harm this one! I was gripped the entire time.
I think the way he has Tau face his motivations is handled so well. As a young man thrust with so much responsibility so soon, he takes it in stride. Also Uduak and Hadith as a couple. So cute. Themba continues to be the comic relief we need. And the budding and sweet relationship between Tau and the Queen is so cute.
All in all, I can not WAIT for the next book!!
