I read the next book, "The Takeover", before this one and I have to say I enjoyed it better.
This was ok but I got whiplash with the back and forth "I love you" to "Move on, I have". Heartbreaking. Jay, Jim, Jameson is a bastard that doesn't deserve Emily. I can't say I would have forgiven him after that last "stopover" encounter. I would like to think that when he came crawling back (and in real life there is no assurance that he would since he is a bastard) I would have told him point blank that he needs to work to rebuild my trust, because it was broken. She caved pretty quick.
I think I would have responded more positively to them getting back together if he had had to feel that emotion that she did and had to work for it, rather than " its been hell without her".
It was just a deal breaker moment for me and we got absolutely no assurance from the devil that it wouldn't happen again. It felt like a huge betrayal, huge!

Such a good book! The story line and character formation were 10/10 for me! This author has a way of making you fall in love with the characters as well as taking you on some dramatic spins and then bringing you right back to that “feel good” spot. I highly suggest reading this! I hope she continues the series further beyond the next book!

Leitura rápida, fácil, com cenas hot mas o plot podia ter sido mais explorado.
Há uma parte em que o Jameson é só irritante e sem noção.
No geral é um sim mas sem repetição 🫤

a good randomly picked steamy romance novel always helps get me out of a reading rut and this one was no exception to that rule. i think it may have even been a TikTok recommendation? a quick, easy read. cool NYC setting. love that it was set partially in a newspaper company. actually really liked the love interest character and felt he was more multi-dimensional than others i’ve read before

emily and jameson (or should i say jim bc girl only liked that side of him): 2 fucking idiots who cant communicate. listen she was so focused on relieving his stress but didn’t think about therapy? and that was the worst fucking groveling ever.
