I’ve seen this series posted EVERYWHERE and finally got around to the first book. And my first TL Swan book did disappoint. I’m excited to read the rest.

I think I enjoyed this book against my better judgement.

IT was entertaining and such a quick, easy read - despite being on the longer side for a romance novel. However, there were so many holes...

I'm not going to go into too much detail, because it's not my style, but Jameson just gets a random personality transplant 80% of the way through and I still don't know what exactly made him change his mind about being with Emily. Honestly there were a few times I felt like the story just jumped from one place to the next with little to no explanation and I felt like I was trying to catch up on the characters thought processes.

Anyway, for the girlies who love it, the grovelling was excellent.

Not bad but not award winning. Way too much raunchy spice in it for me but when you look beyond the spice, it was a cute story with a little bit of “who done it”. Average girl moves to New York for her dream job. Once hired she realizes that the CEO was her one and only one night stand a year ago.

Drama happens, the CEO is accused of embezzlement and she, being a reporter, works to solve the case.

Again, not award winning but will continue with the series until I have books on my Libby shelf.

Emily and Jameson

This was my first T. L. Swan book and it was making me laugh consistently, the humour was perfectly balanced with the angst and romance. I looked forward to getting back to this book every spare moment. I thought Emily and Jameson would make a great couple and was willing them to get together. They had a feisty energy between them and were initially avoiding the truth of their feelings.

I did find Jameson to be quite aggressive in his tone at times and he was very bossy telling Emily what’s going to happen, etc. I believe he’s attempting to show his love for her in this dominant display. I found his love confession quite sweet and the camping scene was humorous.

I think Emily is good for Jameson in grounding him and bringing him down to earth and it was looking dicey for them at one point. Thank goodness that it all worked out in the end.

I am looking forward to the next book in the series and I have already downloaded it on my kindle.

I give this book 3.75 stars.
