Another interesting interlude between the regular books. It adds an interesting twist to the character, Reacher, however unlikely it is to have been.

I enjoyed this for seeing the cocky young side of JR, but he still doesn’t have the experience which earns him is arrogance, in my opinion. The age and relationships didn’t quite sit right with me. Overall really good story, another enjoyable trip down memory lane

So, so ridiculous. Had to suspend my disbelief even more than normal for a Reacher book. Here, he is supposedly a young 17 yr old with little experience and lots of attitude and yet he talks, acts, and moves like the Jack Reacher of the present. While these short stories/novellas are not the author's strong point, it wasn't terrible and certainly could have been worse. At least it made me roll my eyes in an entertaining way.

Not sure I can believe that a teenager could perform all these feats, not even the great Jack Reacher himself!

It is always fun to read these short stories & novellas about Jack Reacher. They give us a glimpse into his life at various stages. But please do not read these short stories if you haven’t acquainted yourself with Jack Reacher through the novels. These are meant to give insights on the leading character who is developed through the novels and not the other way around.

This is a Jack Reacher Story of him as a teenager in the New York City. After witnessing something on the streets, Jack Reacher cannot help but interfere and help a woman in need. (Boy! Do we need more people like Jack Reacher in the real world or what?) But he soon realizes that that the man he messed with is more than he seemed like at a glance. Did Jack Reacher, for once, bite off more than he can chew? Find out for yourself.

What's not to like about Jack Reacher ? This short story was a quick look into his earlier life when he was an older teenager.

This short story was fun in that it was a glimpse of young Jack Reacher. Another view into what shaped him, though by his late teens in this book much of how he operated and why was set.

In typical Reacher fashion, he is caught in the blackout of New York City in 1977. He interrupts what looks like a man getting physical with a woman, but is a crime boss getting physical with a disgraced federal officer. This leads to mayhem and help in what we see as typical Reacher fashion. Yet it isn’t Tyler at this point in his life. There is a college girl who comes for part of the ride along with a dubious sighting of The Son of Sam.

A fun and quick read that is satisfying to Reacher fans all around.
