This book fell flat for me. I like Issa Rae but I found her stories overall weren’t relatable. I chalked it up to different life stages and me not being an “awkward black girl”.

Love Issa! I love her vision and I admire her work ethic. This book was cringey af. I was offended more than once. J may try to read this again but Im most certainly done for now.

I didn’t think I would relate to her on the levels that I did. She gets very personal. She has a very interesting back story. The stories get kind of jumbled but everything comes full circle.
